Enligt den intervju som fanns i Glimmers, så säger Robert Jordan:

"After Crossroads of Twilight, there will be two or more books, knock wood. God wiling and the creek don't rise. I never intended The Wheel of Time to be this long. The story is progressing the way I planned, but from the beginning I beilived I could tell it in many fewer words, many fewer volumes. When I finish Wheel, I have no plans for spin-offs or sequels..."

Tor Books har dock tidigare sagt att det under 2003 skall komma ut en expanderad version av New Spring med ytterligare 2st kortare noveller.
